New Patterns available at Salme Patterns

Last week I visited Elisa's shop almost by chance and... what a nice surprise! Many new, beautiful patterns! They are all very coherent with Elisa's previous work: clean, simple lines with trendy details. I couldn't resist and purchased a couple... Which are your favorites?

Cut out shoulder dress - So very in trend!

Peplum skirt

Minna blouse

Colorblock t-shirt
Gathered top
Yoke blouse
Maija dress for children -
I SO wish this pattern was for adults too!

  1. Thanks so much for the head's up! I'm seriously thinking about purchasing the Minna blouse. It looks like it would be a wonderful layering top for the winter, and also perfect as a stand along for spring/summer.

Have you ever made a Salme pattern before? Curious if it's difficult to print at home... Or if it's easy like the online BurdaStyle which I'm experienced with.

    1. Yes, I made the front pleated dress (http://paunnet.blogspot.com/2011/12/woodcutters-daughter.html) and learnt from experience that the fit on these pattern is quite loose, so bear it in mind (or make a muslin, since I was to lazy to make one!).
The pattern is very easy to assemble, much like the Burdastyle ones. The instructions are not too detailed, I wouldn't advise them to a complete beginner (but I didn't have any problem, so I'm sure you won't either!).

  4. I just bought the cut out shoulder dress last night. It reminds me of Wiksten! But I missed that peplum skirt!

  5. I bought the cropped blazer, the vest and the sleeveless dress in Jan. Made up the cropped blazer with some suiting remnants I had and saw that it would need fitting and then tossed it aside in favour of more immediate sewing gratification XD. I'll definitely get back to it sometime when I have more time and less to do with it. I agree with you on the fit being fairly loose though-that was the part that needed fitting ;)
